DESCRIPTION:
This book has evolved from many years of research and teaching in the field. It is also of increasing practical importance, since adaptive techniques are being used more and more in industrial control systems. This adds substantially to the understanding of the behavior of adaptive systems. Kumar, David G. Stochastic adaptive control is treated in Chapter 7. Many examples and simulations are given throughout the book to illustrate ideas and theory. The examples and problems give the reader good insight into properties, design procedures, and implementation of adaptive controllers. Much new knowledge has appeared which by itself motivates a new edition. A new section on stability of time-varying systems has been added. The chapter on practical aspects and implementation has been rewritten completely to reflect the increased experience of practical use of adaptive control. After learning the material in the book a reader should have a good perspective of
Written by two of the pioneers in the field, this book contains a wealth of practical information unavailable anywhere else. Benefitting from the feedback of students and colleagues who have used the first edition, the material has been reorganized and rewritten, giving a more balanced and teachable presentation of fundamentals and applications.. The authors give a comprehensive presentation of the field of adaptive control, carefully bending theory and implementation to provide the reader with insight and understanding
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Shirley Thomas This is a good book for someone studying the control of machinesand how to set up the sequence of the control.. Skips some math, but implementable algorithms Brian M. Moore I found this text to be an overall excellent compilation of many different adaptive techniques. If you are looking for a text to contain proofs versus 'justifications', then this book isn't for you (steps are skipped to emphasize the result). However, if you implement the algorithms, you will get the results as stated. The book states up front that it is limited to SISO. However, in the references at the end of a chapter, you will find MIMO references (IEEE pubs, etc). I've enjoyed the book, and I'm keeping it.. Easy to understand introduction to adaptive control Mehmet Yunt This book is easy to understand compared to other adaptive control texts. The examples are interwoven with the text. The theoretical complexity of adaptive control is contained in a few chapters and can be visited after some experience with the practical aspects have been obtained.
