DESCRIPTION:
One-dimensional trash and jargon so intense it would be easier to translate Egyptian hieroglyphs Kindle Customer One-dimensional trash and that is being overly kind. How did I buy such rubbish? My usual due diligence of looking at the cover art & reading the blurb grossly mislead me. The cover art was nicely done, but that promotional blurb is the only part of the book that is coherent. Yes, I was warned by Kenna's review that "the jargon is intense" and Pam I Am even provided examples of the book being "f. "Good, but very, very niche" according to Maugham. I'm struggling with how to review this book. The first thing to know is that if you are not an MMORPG player (did I get that acronym right?) a lot of this book will be impenetrable to you. It's not so much the terms that I found difficult as there is a glossary at the end of the book, and understanding the overall story didnt really require understanding every details) as the extended descriptio. My new favorite Alexis Hall book!!! This book is so sweet and romantic and PROFOUND and completely enjoyable. I adored every second of it, even the more intensive gaming parts. I'm more of a wannabe gamer than an actual player so much of the jargon was foreign to me BUT there is a great glossary of terms in this book AND it didn't really matter anyway--I got the gist of the gaming stuff well enough from Alexis's writing and I felt
Sure, he plays Heroes of Legend, the world’s most successful massively multiplayer online roleplaying game, and he plays it pretty well, but it’s a hobby, not a way of life. To his surprise, Drew discovers that’s less of an issue than he thought. He’s certainly not the sort of person who’d fall for someone he met in a videogame. Drew isn’t that kind of nerd. Except then he does. Now Kit and Drew have to figure out how to live in both worlds—online and off.. She’s everything Drew’s looking for in a girl apart from being a boy in real life. Kit is sweet and clever and funny and a damn good healer. He’s got friends who aren’t from the internet, he plays sports, and he knows how to talk to girls
Publishers Weekly **STARRED REVIEW** - An utterly charming romance. Hall's intriguing combination of philosophical contemplation, gaming, and awkward-sweet seduction produces a compelling love story with numerous laugh-out-loud moments." Kirkus - "A deeply real consideration of the ways people choose to pursue their passions and live their lives and people's perceptions of those ways."
