the writing is like any Kyell Gold book Amazon Customer Let me be clear about something; I'm not a huge fan of the French or French culture (being Canadian). With that out of the way, no book has made me want to drop 200+ dollars on an absinthe spoon, glass, and imported absinthe all the way from Europe and I don't even drink. Not to mention Montmartre being a place I want to visit if I ever do travel to Paris (Or Lutece as it's referenced in the book).I wasn't just an avid fan of the book, I was OBSESSED with it for 2-3 months after reading it. What really sealed the deal was that a lot of this book is based off real places, such as Montmartre, Pa. buukro said Just, wow.. first of all, the description doesnt do the book much justice. it makes it sound like a stupid 'teenager kid coming out' story, but is SO much more than that. You start reading and you have nearly no possible way to know how it will end. The best non-series book Kyell has written so far.. Excellent as usual Kyell never fails to amaze me, no matter what era or place he uses for his stories. In this one, the one I liked the most was the Moulin Rouge, and I would definitely love to discover more about this grimly thrilling universe he created. I don't think I was ever as moved by any of his other characters as by the combined (mis)fortunes of Sol and Niki, even if my mixed feelings left me a little bit confused. But of course, confusion leads to contemplation, and so I kept finding myself thinking time and time again about how this story relates to me and my own life. It was not hard to find simila
