This book will both impress people and leave them wanting more; some armchair travelers may even be tempted to visit the many gorgeous geographical and historical sites depicted here.Copyright © Reed Business Information, a division of Reed Elsevier Inc. . The "stair lakes" at the abandoned Yellow Dragon Monastery in the mountains of Huanglong sparkle in bright sunshine; the Yuanmou Earth Forest of China’s southern region calls to mind the southwest desert of the United States with its jagged, colorful rock formations; and a view over the source of the Yangtze River in the Tanggula Mountains features such spectacular greens, blues and snowy whites

beautiful book A beautiful book giving concise summaries and photographs of the most astounding sites and national treasures in China. A very helpful book for someone planning a trip and wanting to visit some of the spectacular scenery and sites of China.. Another good book from Reader's Digest Very complete book through words and pictures of China. Up to the normal high standards of Readers Digest at a very reasonable price. Some of the pictures have been enlarged so the picture is degraded by it's graininess, this detracts a bit from the story but that's nit-picking on my part. This is a good intro to China and Readers Digest does a good job of presenting a complex subject. I think there are better books out there on China, but everyone has a different view. My recommendation is to go to the library first and browse it. If . Great photos! My son went to China through his college and I bought this book for him as a memory of his trip. He loved it!
