Magnus Hirschfeld (1868-1935) was one of the first great pioneers of the gay liberation movement. Too many parts of the book were simply a collection of comments derived from research. But Hirschfeld deserves a more incisive assessment than this book provides. A decent, quick read.. Anna K.
