"Beyond Trauma" according to andeem. As a grad student studying psychology, I found this book to be a little pedestrian because I've already covered most of the topics in textbooks. However, I can see that this book would be helpful to someone NOT in the field.. "Ok but not great." according to Barry D'Andrea. This book does not address the issue that trauma victims have an unconscious compulsion to re-enact trauma to themselves, to other persons or vicarioulsy through their children. It provides no guidance about how to provide a compassionate intervention to prevent a person with PTSD from repeating the trauma to other persons, thereby perpetuating the inter-generalaiton cycle of violence and abuse.. Completely satisfied with this book. Deborah D. Toa Well written. Very helpful to my clients and my practice.Arrived in a timely manner and in good condition.
