joepilot said good for the advanced pilot. Great book, good input on technical skills, if you are a back country pilot wanting a more technical explanation regarding commonly mis understood attributes of your plane, this might be a good read. I enjoyed it and will retain it for a reference.. Another great floatplane text! Dr. Dale DeRemer does an excellent job of explaining the dynamics of operating a float/sea plane in this book. It's written in clear, concise language and is easy to follow. It may be a bit technical for a casual reader, but for those interested in learning to fly a floatplane or are just keeping up with their floatplane knowledge, it's a perfect book to add to your aviation-themed library. There are tons of pictures illustrating what he's writing about as. One Star colin spiral bound crap, not what I was expecting.
Planning and flying a trip into the deep wilderness, including wilderness preparedness, navigation, and operations, is covered. Discussions include take-off performance and techniques, external loads, and reducing water drag. Also discussed are centre-of-gravity effects on seaplanes, stability on water, fuels and fuelling, mooring, and seaplane camping.. Going beyond the basic how-to guide, this handy reference provides pilots with all the knowledge needed to get the best performance from a seaplane
