DESCRIPTION:
While presenting various varieties of crystal oscillators, this resource also provides microwave engineers with MathCad and Genesys simulations.. Without crystal controlled transmission, radio and television would not be possible in their present form. This book describes the characteristics of the art of crystal oscillator design, including how to specify and select crystal oscillators. The quartz crystals allow the individual channels in communication systems to be spaced closer together to make better use of one of most precious resources -- wireless bandwidth. Quartz, unique in its chemical, electrical, mechanical, and thermal properties, is used as a frequency control element in applications where stability of frequency is an absolute necessity
Joe said Well written modern overview. This is an excellent, modern, and detailed review of crystals and crystal oscillators by a highly experienced professional. It's very informative, but it is not a large book and if you want a full picture you will need a few other books as well. For a deeper review of phase noise issues I recommend "Phase Noise and Frequency Instability in Oscillators", by Enrico Rubiola. For an interesting historical perspective, a n
