Author Marsh provides a good overview of the business history of MCR, including very early methods of laying track, depots, engine houses, establishment of new towns and opening the West for immigration. Reading this book tends to generate curiosity and interest in finding more information about MCR, especially after it was absorbed into the New York Central System in 1901.
