JIMMIE GAYLOR said Dont Mess With Texas Rangers. Love Texas ,Love Ranger stories They hung horse thieves , got every one who killed a Ranger , ASAP no bleeding heart liberals . they would even get Pancho Villa to help them get the killers . not politically correct . They would even chase a bad guy to Florida and bring him back , and didn't wait for extradition . GOD BLESS TEXAS AND THE RANGERS. NOT hollywood This book (Rangers & Soverignty) depicts the REAL life of The Texas Rangers.Unlike the hollywood versions of The Texas Rangers, this book will give you true knowledge of the life & turmoil that these men faced as a Ranger.Capt.Roberts & Co.D were Men that we will never see the likes of again.. I own one of the originals W. Petitt Capt. Dan W. Roberts was my great-great grandfather. I have a copy of the original book printing in hardback in 1914. It's a wonderful story of his life as a Texas Ranger. You might also look for a book printed about that same time that was written by his wife and my great-great grandmother, Lou Roberts telling the story of a wife of a Texas Ranger.
