DESCRIPTION:

A Customer said hard to follow and has no answers in the back. This book could be good if a great professor was teaching with it. I had the misfortune of having another poor University of California, San Diego professor which made the book a priority to read. I found the book to be once again excessive in derivation and the problems required too much interpolation to make any good use of the tables provided. The tables were great however could not be used efficiently when solving problems, thus making homework sessions tedious rather than instructive.. Really great book I used this book as an undergrad (ME) and I loved it. Now I'm taking the grad heat transfer class, and this book has been a great help. I am currently designing a heat exchanger and without it I would have been lost! In the words of my friend in reference to this book, "I just want to shake that man's hand for writing it". Worthless book dusty Rolla Difficult to follow and no solutions. examples are few and far between. By far the most worthless chemical engineering book I've used only one I'm sure I'll sell at the end of the semester. the author is incomplete I found few discussions interesting there's got to be better out there?!

"The authors have done an excellent job of paying attention to their audience, defining terms, pacing the presentation and motivating the students.""The breadth of material in this book is excellent, and the text is well-written, informative in detail and easy to understand."

The book is designed for a one-semester course in heat transfer at the junior or senior level, however, flexibility in pedagogy has been provided. This acknowledgement is met with the emphasize that students must still learn to appreciate both the physics and the elegance of simple mathematics in addressing complex phenomena, aiming at presenting the principles of heat transfer both within the framework of classical mathematics and empirical correlations.. PRINCIPLES OF HEAT TRANSFER was first published in 1959, and since then it has grown to be considered a classic within the field, setting the standards for coverage and organization within all other Heat Transfer texts. Following several recommendations of the ASME Committee on Heat Transfer Education, Kreith, Manglik, and Bohn present relevant and stimulating content in this fresh and comprehensive approach to heat transfer, acknowledging that in today's world classical mathematical solutions to heat transfer problems are often less influential than computational analysis

He received his Ph.D. M. Dr. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and a senior member of both the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE). .
