You'll pass, but need help with operating and staying legal. I read this book in about four hours, very carefully, and yes you will be able to pass your test, however, that doesn't mean you'll understand the required material to run rig legally. I've already done the study elsewhere and have electronics background, so I'll be able to pass and fulfill my legal obligations. If you do not have the same you'll need help staying legal.. Easy way to learn ham I passed the test with 100% after studying for a day and a half (my fiance didn't give me much notice). I couldn't build a radio or do anything fancy, but I did retain a fair amount of the information even after the test. Plus, it was amazing to be able to rub my perfect score in my fiance's face (he only missed one and studied for weeks with a different book).. "It works. Period." according to T.K.. Before reading this book, I would take the sample ARRL test online and would barely pass, if at all. This book lays out the basic terms and theories of radio in plain English, and does not read like a textbook or stereo instructions.
