Bad writing but still good book Idiot900 This book is as gripping and as exciting as the other reviews say it is. The only problem is its atrocious writing style, which is so bad that it obstructs the understanding of the content of the book. I had to reread many passages several times to figure out what Sheppard really meant. Topics are disorganized, digressions are sudden and often without appropriate context. New York's Finest: Best of the Best There is nothing more I can say about "E-Man: Life in the NYPD Emergency Service Unit", written by Al Sheppard and Jerry Schmetterer, that has not been said. An excellent true life experience story of an honest, dedicated police officer who saw it all on the mean streets of the Naked City. Al also served his country in Vietnam.
