Amazon Customer said I tried to like this book. I have late stage lyme, and was moved by Ally's experience leading up to her diagnosis, I felt for her and went through similarly isolating and humiliating experiences as my mind and body changed. I appreciate her telling this reality of lyme because people don't understand or believe how bad it is.However! I strongly feel that someone with Ally's resources and access to top doctors and treatment protocols has a responsibility to do more than a half-baked memoir. Lyme sufferers are desperate for information and guidance on their journeys, they need well organized, researched and plain spoken info about their options. I w. THIS COULD BE YOU Michelle Go-green Ally's story is one heck of a good look at what Lyme can do to you when NO ONES WATCHING. I can't tell you how many people I try to warn about Lyme who practically yawn in my face because "WelI won't get it, it's back East, not HERE (West Coast). It's no big dealzzzz." Lyme is IN EVERY STATE and according to the CDC 300,000 people get it a year and only 30,000 of them are treated. And few Drs are taught to treat. DO THE MATH. It is lucky for US that Ally's last name is known by many, and that her book is FOR REAL because it is a heartbreaking, gripping story of pain and utter ignorance because like AIDS in it day, nobody. Lymies should read A Great Book! While i don't agree with everything in the book - i do feel it would be helpful for anyone suffering with lyme. Ally's journey - unfortunately and as she acknowledges - is not rare! However, as she also acknowledges - there is hope and help! And hope is sorely needed! Our family has been battling lyme for 12 years now, undiagnosed for the twenty previous to the 12! We aren't cured, but we are better. We'll take better - and many out there would love to be better! This book will encourage you and lift you up - while also offering tools on your journey to health and wellness!
