"yep" according to Robert Byrd. Some teenagers whose parents have problems with alcohol will recognize that even though they are also affected by the drinking and seek help. Many more won't. They don't even know that help is out there. Alateen (and Al-Anon) are lifelines to family members of alcoholics and this book can be a great introduction to Alateen for those who need it. Teens will see themselves in some of the stories and find coping tools and strategies that can save their sanity, if not their lives. Buy it for yourself, or buy it for a friend who needs it. Even if you don't know anyone who needs it now, Youth Leaders should have a couple of copies in their in. "Alateen" according to Irene L. Warner. While the book was helpful I was hoping it would give a little more immediate insight into what to do if the teen is living with an alcholic parent.. sweethonesty said great self-help book. It's perfect to read on alone time & gives hope to those of us who grew up in the disease.
