Leski sees the creative process as being like a storm; it slowly begins to gather and take form until it overtakes us -- if we are willing to let it. All of us must work our way through the empty page, the blank screen, writer's block, confusion, chaos, and doubt. It is dynamic, continually in motion; it starts, stops, rages and abates, ebbs and flows. "A good take on creative practice" according to Stellabeth. Enjoying this read. Some ideas have been stated/framed differently in other books on creativity, but Leski writes in a casual/poetic way that makes complex ideas accessible. Not so much a "how-to", but a framework that allows perspective on one's own creative practice. Would be a good book for students to read.. Five Stars This is a fascinating book: She shares the way she sees the world so well.. "For those not fortunate enough to have been one of Leski’s students at" according to Amazon Customer. For those not fortunate enough to have been one of Leski’s students at RISD, this book is a school. Architecture, etymology, poetry, and pedagogy itself are among the many creative fields discussed here. Thankfully, it is not mere interdisciplinary stone skipping. Each chapter breaks a surface, sinking deep into the dynamics of making. A refreshing contrast to the current wave of counterintuitive melodramas, there is authentic substance here, n
