I wanted to take away a star for this, but I will try to rise above & rate the book for what it is. After all, a book ought to expand one's horizons & push one beyond the comfort zone. incredibly disappointing!!! Cover looks so inviting but the inside is terrible. The text is a long, looong ad for boutique hotels, crafts people and designers, boring, mostly pointless and repetitious. The photos are strange and often unpleasantly awkward and irritating. Lots of small, borderless partial shots, taken at odd angles, crammed together, sometimes 16 to a page! Some shots would have been nice if done full page, where you could study an. "the new country style england" according to Catherine Colwell. I love everything that Kaffe Fasset is featured in. But everything in the book is inspiring. It is a thing of beauty.
