DESCRIPTION:
a good subs for wiki and a good summary I just finished reading this book to prepare for my tech interview. This book is a very good substitution for wikipedia on summary, and could be used for interview preparation. But that is it. A bit over simplified. The most annoying thing during reading was that, the referred diagrams are always at the next page or two pages after. Some paragraphs seemed written by some students' cut and copy from the net.(e.g. there is this term in short form being explained when it was mention in the second time not the first) There. Corey said A great refresher portion. The beginning is a very clear review of Transmission Lines, and Antennas. A great refresher portion, followed by lots of applications, has easy problems that can be found by rereading the chapter, and everything is as simple as it can possibly be. Great text to relearn, or to advance your knowledge a little bit.
"Chang provides a comprehensive introduction to the engineering design and analysis of the hardware components used in such wireless systems. It will serve the RF engineer for many years to come." (MTT Microwaves Magazine, September 2001) . 8, April 2001) "This is one book that I was immediately impressed withand I have loaned it to numerous colleagues and new RF engineersvery well written in a concisemannerthe illustrations and explanations are the best I've ever seen.I highly recommend this book. Upper-division undergraduates; professionals." (Choice, Vol. 38, No. Recommended for libraries associated with electrical engineering programs
An Instructor's Manual presenting detailed solutions to all the problems in the book is available from the Wiley editorial department. Renowned authority Kai Chang covers both communication and radar/sensor systems and extends the discussion to other intriguing topics, from global positioning systems (GPS) to smart highways and smart automobiles. This book provides scientists and engineers with clear, thorough, up-to-date explanations of all aspects of RF and microwave wireless systems, including general hardware components, system parameters, and architectures. Chang reviews waves and transmission lines, examines modulation and demodulation and multiple-access techniques, and helps bridge the gap between RF/microwave engineering and communication system design. A comprehensive introduction to the hardware, parameters, and architectures of RF/microwave wireless systems As the basis for some of the hottest technologies of the new millennium, radio frequency (RF) and microwave wireless systems rapidly propel us toward a future in which the transmission of voice, video, and data communications will be pos
He has published over 350 papers and eight books and is the Editor of the Wiley Series in Microwave and Optical Engineering and the Editor of the journal Microwave and Optical Technology Letters.
