Great shipper Awesome. A FIRST SALUTE FOR A VERY FINE NOVEL I had the pleasure of meeting Tracey Richardson at the GCLS Con in Minnesota in 2012. She is an intelligent, insightful, gracious and warm person and I was thrilled to meet her and learn that those same characteristics come through in her writing and embody her characters as well. There is a great deal of angst in "Last Salute" that is shown through the two protagonists, Pam and Trish, in their hesitant relationship. Pam's sister, Laura, a career medical doctor in the U.S. Army, is killed-in-action in Afghanistan. The resulting reunion of Pam and Trish, Lau. Mature and Intelligent This is a book about love and its many shapes and seasons: love of family, friends, duty to country. Adolescent and puppy love, schoolgirl crushes, love from afar, love lost and found. The author sets the romance in a context of military sacrifice and what that loss means to two women who were closest to the fallen veteran. It is a beautiful and touching tale which explores so many emotions and motivations. Well worth reading!
