Amos Matsick said Well written, suitable for higher tastes.. I read this book for our Sierra Club readers group and was surprised at how good it was. A lot of resources went into the writing as evidenced by the extensive bibliography at the end. The work is verbose and may not be right for younger or more casual readers depending on their reading level. I took notes in order to fully digest the reading and found that it boosted my acumen. The author focuses both on Gifford Pinchot's successful political career and also on his work with establishing forestry in the United States. I imagine readers interested in either of those subjects would find this book most useful.. Mary Mason said Four Stars. as described and quick shipping.
