DESCRIPTION:
Filled with full specs and production figures.. James Taylor tells the story of the design, development and production of each generation, and includes coverage of the M3, Touring and convertible variants. The current generation, which features family saloons, practical Touring versions, delicious convertibles, and 'supercar' saloons, seems far removed from the earlier cars. However, upon closer inspection the lineage is clear, and the one theme that runs throughout is that these are true drivers' cars
Excellent history! Must have for 3 series enthusiasts. Great detail content. Only caveat: Was written by a british author for the GB market and therefore is referencing RHD models and models that were never sold in the US. All in all a complete story though!. Excellent book with a lot of useful content I was most interested in the E30 part of this book but it does a very good job of covering E21 and E36 3-series models as well. Even a good introduction to the 2002. One problem is that it is very UK-centric, so North American readers will have to do a bit of translation to figure out which models are being referred to. Overall an excellent book and an a good introduction to the 3-series BMW.
Highly respected for the meticulous research he brings to his work, he has written over 40 books, including other titles in the Original series on the Land-Rover Series I and Triumph Stag. Some of his books have appeared in foreign languages, and his own linguistic ability has seen him translate other books from German and French. About the AuthorJames Taylor is a well-known writer in various automotive fields, and Rolls-Royce and Bentley cars - particularly those covered in this book - are a special interest.
