Review of Cerny's 'Architectural San Francisco' This is a large, detailed handbook covering a wide range of buildings and space. The 'Bay Area' cover is quiet extensive--all nine of the counties touching the Bay. Every area and sub-area is introduced with some history of development, and every building is offered (more or less) a full paragraph of description. My one complain is a lack of color! It would make the guidebook far less dull to read on its own. This mainly operates as a companion to sight-seeing the buildings oneself, though therein we reach the difficulty that the guidebook is so extensive that it is a little large to carry around..
